Moonlit Night

Stoneware and watercolors

Full moon shadow-patterns
on gazing eyes,
full open,
what touched this hand,
now motionless in sleep,
when touching hollows warm,
so tentative,
and softly pressed
head chest to breast?

No word exposed,
nor broke,
the silence kept
to feed the fear of self revealed.

And only hands
could touch,
so deep,
the places words had failed to reach.
